A nationally awarded photographer from Pakistan, Sami started photography at the age of 40. Since then he has participated in over 500 FIAP and PSA approved Exhibitions. He has won over 220 International Awards, besides receiving numerous Honours and Distinctions from International Photographic Associations. He is the author of nine Pictorial Coffee-table books. He is also President of Photographic Art Society of Pakistan, holds a Masters’ Degree in English Literature and is a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police.

He was conferred President’s Award for Pride of Performance (Art Photography) in 2003.
